It's been almost two weeks since leaving the states and I've finally got the opportunity to sit down and update everyone! We spent the first week and a half living at the J-Life campsite but have now moved into a duplex at Kimiad, which is about 40 minutes away. The good thing is that we're now only about 10 minutes outside of Heidleburg.
Internet is very expensive and unreliable once you get outside of the city, so we are going to forego any connection at home and just use the free wireless internet at Maggie's CafĂ© in town. I'll hopefully be able to come in a couple times a week, buy a cup of coffee and use the internet for a little bit…. Most of my time will be spent following the Rangers.
I have actually been able to watch a little bit of TV over the last couple of weeks because one of the residents at J-Life has satellite. I've been following the Tour de France each day (it's either that or soccer) and was able to watch the final round of The Open last weekend… so I've got that going for me.
My experience so far has been an amazing one. The people I'm working with at J-Life are great and South Africa is unbelievable. Like I said, until last night I've been staying at J-Life, which is in the middle of a 4,000-acre farm full of prairies and mountains… the sunrises are indescribable. (Pictures to come, if I can figure out how to work a digital camera.)
That's all for now but I hope you are all well and thank you so much for the prayers and support!
